These injector are use on many machines like 955h,944 loader and more
I also relized that it has a rack stop clip on it. Are those injectors any good? And are they counter bored. I already swaped them out for 9F4113 counter bored injecters and reset the rack at .215.😄 But which is better the other ones or the 9F4113's?

Second chart gives Nozzle P/No and the Valve Service Group they come with, this is the only chart I know of to convert either way.

The 9F4113, 6H3364 and 2S4442 are all good numbers and all counterbored nozzles.
What are you doing with a stop clip on the 9U rack??? That's usually done only on the DW10's or special applications that also involves the special governor.
Seems like somebody's been tinkering. The clip that matches the later nozzles is a 9F4476.
This is the first time we've cracked the governer open since we've owned the tractor which is about 23 years but we did put a new block, head, pistons, sleeves, chrome rings, water pump, raidiator, pony has been gone through and it has a new block too. I have no idea why there is a rack stop clip on it but it's there and it did bottom out with the old rack setting witch was .330!!!!😮 I don't know why it never threw black smoke😕 it's a 1948 9U. The governer did does a throbing when at full throtle with no load. So I don't know if I changed anything hp wise? But it does throw a little black smoke under a load now though it never has before I changed the injectors and rack setting. It does seem to be louder though. I have no idea what's better for it the way it was or the way it is now.
What is the governor group number?
It's the normal 9U guts and wieghts , spring but just a clip in there.
Kinda off topic but how come it seems like the d318's have a smaller rack setting then the D311's and the very last d2's had a rack setting of .365? Why did they do that? They are smaller bore? Just somthing that I've been thinking about.

the D2 injection pump has smaller Diameter plungers and barrels, so, it needs a useful rack setting to suit the lower volume of output of the pumps. This is done to keep the governor operation within useable limits. If we had the same sized plumps on all engines the small engine governors could not hope to control the engine with such small governor movements, they would be unstable in RPM's etc.
When all is said and done the engines have a maximum designed Brake Mean Effective Pressure --average maximum cylinder pressure -- and regardless of engine speed this cannot be exceeded.
A check of the rack settings for each engine family at the given engine working speed (Full Load RPMs) will show that as the engine's working speed increases so does the rack setting, BUT, the BMEP remains constant at all these various working RPM's due to the changes in the Rack Settings --they increase as do the working RPM's and consequently so does the HP output of the engine at these higher working speeds.
Sorry if this is a bit deep, there are many confusing things to the layman about Rack Settings, RPM's and timing on Diesel engines among other things.
