I hope that we can help you with reliable serial number information. I work with Top Bid (
www.topbid.com), a division of Randall-Reilly Publishing, and we publish a very comprehensive guide that includes
used Caterpillar serial numbers. Auctioneers, finance companies, new and used equipment dealers, and appraisers use the guide. To access full data, you'll need to invest in our book or on-line subscription, and the
Caterpillar 3-digit prefix information is on-line for free. The reason Top Bid can produce this information so reliably is that we check our data against lien registrations and get much of the data directly from the OEM. I hope you'll give us a chance.
