We have a Customer who is repairing a 212 Grader (95C00015) and has asked what is the max diameter the wheel brake drums can be machined out to. I believe the part no. for the drum is 7B1399.

If any one of the members would happen to know this info, your help would be greatfully appreciated.

I couldn't find any info on resurfacing drums other than they are 16 inch diameter and a 3 inch wide drum. Maybe edb might have something.

The 212 probably predates regulatory involvement in brake drums. I have never seen anything relating to max diameter in any of the books that I have. Some older drums have a mark on the edge for the max diameter.

Hi Team,
from The Dealer this is the only chart I have, but I feel the 3mm/0.125" Max. above Standard cited here would be acceptable for your 212.
The sizes given on the chart are the specification standard size for that P/No.
So The max size is that given dimension +0.125"/3mm
I do not have a P/No for your drums or a Standard size, maybe some one else can help further.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
