I wanted to get some ideas on seat cushions. I have looked at the Tractor Boy Parts store on Ebay and gotten prices from Hahn Tractor Seats. Has anyone used one or the other of these. I am sure that the Hahn seats are superior quality, but at twice the price is it practical to go with the top quality. Or are there others that I should look at ?

I have shopped, and always by Hahn now. They are done right, they send the back, bottom, and arm rests. They can send the metal strapping or not. Hahn's pattern's are correct. I tried some one else on the first tractor, but they didn't fit right, and I had to redrill it. It still isn't right.

If you can duplicate the plywood backing.....just visit your local vehicle upholstery shop. Nothing but a chunk of high density foam with your choice of material cover. The Hahn seats are show quality but my tractors live outside and it's a constant battle with the critters that like to chew and nest.

I am sure that Hahns cushion are the best available, but I am like Old Magnet. My equipment is to use and is normally kept outside. Dennis at Omnitrac in Cove, OR has plywood backs and the back seat brackets that I am missing, so I could have an upholstery shop build cushions for me. I could probably get the frames from John at General Gear in Boise,ID but he has not been user friendly to me lately, with no response to emails.

Hahn seats are the best you can get, fit is correct and quality is excellent😊
I made some boards for my RD-6 and furnished the foam, had a local auto upholster cover with his best grade of "equipment material" and saved about $50. to $75.
Not sure it was worth it. Will order from John Hahn next time.
Just my thought's.

To my knowledge no one is making the correct original wood frame and coil spring seats so your getting a foam cushion version no matter which way you go. If your missing the plywood back and need the plywood base it may be more practical to get the package from Hahn. At least you know it will fit.

There was a discussion on here some time ago about the Tractor Boy seats and as I recall in summary the quality was ok for the price but there was an issue about the hole drilling for the seat locater pegs. Apparently nothing that was a show stopper.

I seriously doubt that there is a covering material made now that is as good as the original. I still remember the original seat on the D2 when it was only a couple of years old and shinny from use. The material seemed as tough as the handles.

Years ago I tried other sources and wasnt happy with product. I have been buying John Hahns seats ever since. Top qaulity and they fit with no problems. For me quality of product is first, price is second, John is very fair and always returns phone calls.
