I guess we have all seen the JCB dancing digger display team, well here in Cornwall England we have the Case/New holland display team courtesy of Ian Stanton plant hire and his team of talented operators, all the machines shown in the photos are regular spec machines and are driven on sites all over the West Country during the week!!

These photos are courtesy of Tony Wagner who is one of the operators.

Iceman, I wonder how many they upset training for those stunts.I remember years ago when Cat came out with the 416 the factory sent in an engineer to a field day we had for our customers at the Cat dealer I worked for & he did a few stunts with the one he demonstrated but not that much.We sold the JCBs till Cat brought out the 416 so they dropped the JCB line.

Hi SJ,

I don't know if these guys upset anyone, but I have been working on a site with one of the operators of this display team Tony Wagner, and he tells me that all these machines are used by the operators on a daily basis at work on sites across the west country of England, they are not a full time display team but they are all highly talented operators and only do this display three times a year!! Apparently they do not practice any routines at all but just decide what they are going to do on the day!!

Its a credit to the operators skills that they are able to do this kind of display without the need to practice.

In the UK, you have the official JCB Dancing Digger display team, the operators of which are drawn from JCB's in house equipment demonstration team.

I wasn't aware of Ian Stanton's team in Cornwall, but J C Balls & Son Limited (Chapter 2 Member) have a similiar display team in Derbyshire, who like Ian Stanton use their regular operators and plant to perform at local weekend shows.

Caterpillar UK at their Desford Factory near Leicester (BCP - Backhoes, Mini Excavators, Skid Steer Loaders, Telehandlers & Small Wheel Loaders) do have a customer services department and show arena, who put on customer demonstrations, but they do not perform a dancing digger routine.

How often do these guys have to clean the seats on these tractors? Could be some serious pucker damage too.

Herzog is a company around here that I have seen put back hoes onto rail cars and clean them out. Amazing to see.
