Congratulations.
Willy that was an amazing show that was put on last year with all the work you guys did rounding up equipment especially when fuel was high. I havenβt seen you on this BB for a while I was wondering what happened to you.
Congratulations Willy richly deserved. One great regret in my life was not getting to that show. If you guys can face doing it all again some day I won't make the same mistake again.
wimmera farmer
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, Willie.
Good stuff, M8. Congratulations. That is one well deserved award. I think I could possibly guess at some of the other recipients and all would have been connected with BSOT. Congratulations to those people as well.
Thanks again to all of you for a GREAT show. I will be forever glad that I didn't make Wimmera Farmer's mistake. LOL.
Enjoy the peace and quiet. LOL. Such joke I make???????
Catchyaylater.
Willie, no one was more deserving of the award than you. It will be in the minutes of the membership meeting that will be published in the magazine. Not in the mag that was just mailed, but the next one. The award was announced at the membership meeting in New York. That is a handsome looking award, too! To the best of my recollection, George Rankin was the only member at the New York show from the west coast. Considering the expense of travel, it is not surprising that a west coast contingent was not there in New York. Not many from the mid-west either. Almost all east coast folks. Next year's show will be in Portland, Indiana. That is a huge show, and being in the mid-west will probably facilitate the participation of Chapters 1, 4, 6, and 7??? I need to check on those numbers to make sure what areas they all cover. I am thinking of Kansas City, Illinois, maybe Nebraska and Iowa. GWH
Willie:
This has been a long time coming for you. You have helped many members over the years with parts and information that most do not have any idea of. I was also informed that this would also not be the year of the tractor as was 2008. Been laying low this year thinning out the collection and getting some of the other stuff running and restored.
Hope to see you and Jackie at Pioneer Day in Paso Robles In October. We might even have a John Deere or something for you to drive just like last year LOL.
Your Partner in Crime.π
Hey Willie,
You and your five partners in crime are most deserving of this award. I think it is the first time a group has been the recipient.
I know that all six of you have done a lot to help others over the years, but I also know the BSOT was a great success, and it certainly succeeded in helping to promote ACMOC.
I want to congratulate you and the other team members. The show was awesome, as was the effort and commitment of the individuals on the BSOT Steering Committee. I fully understand the need on your and Tomβs part to spend quiet time at home this year! π
Regards,
Lee
Hey Willie,
I am so proud of you. You worked your a_ _ off. Every time I saw a small cloud of dust, you were in it doing your Tasmanian Devil stuff. Your drive and determination towards the event makes you the living legend that you are. The average attendee has no knowledge of years of planning, months and months of every day hauling and working for the event, and months after the show, hauling loads back. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU-glen
At the New York meeting dinner, Lee Sorbel, president of ACMOC, told the assembled crowd about how Tom Madden graciously suggested that the award should go to all the members of the Woodland show steering committee that worked hard to put the show on. The board had initially proposed making the award to Tom and Willie only. Based on Tom's suggestion, we changed course and offered the award as Tom suggested. They all deserved the award, and my friend Willie especially so. GWH
Lee. George, Jim and the remainder of the Board:
Thanks for letting me make the suggestion to include our entire Steering Committee for the BSOT. I know that Willie and I were extremely honored to have been initially chosen as ACMOC Members of the Year but it would have been absolutely wrong to exclude Doug Veerkamp, Glen Ghilotti, Jess Gilbertson and Alan Harris who all played such a critical role in taking this show from dream to reality. This was a great group of guys to work with and we did manage to have some fun along the way.
Thanks again ACMOC.
