Well, after the main pin broke and the blade fell off two years ago, we decided a major redesign was needed for our D8's c-frame. So after some dedicated Air-arcing and torching, and two boxes of welding rods later...

Before

After

Needless to say, we doubled the travel of the cable block and made a more solid (And modern) blade mount for the D8. There is still a lot to improve on this guy (Radiator and bottom rollers are next), but it's slowly taking shape.

Right after we pounded in the final pin, we headed straight to an area we have been wanting to clear for a while and let loose!

(I went a little crazy with the paint... Can you see the face? 😛 )
The brush rake came with the place, and is actually made out of Bucyrus cable blade mounts.

I love the power the D8 has. They are rather small stumps, but when the dozer grunts a little, you know a stump has just been uprooted.

I uploaded a bunch of pictures here

Awesome pictures! I like the root rake. I wish I had something like that for my D-8!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
