We had to take some tools into the woods Saturday so we tried out the towbar from the M-274 Mule and it worked nice.

I saw a photo of a "Mule" once and always wanted one. They were produced before everyone had 4-wheelers. Seems like it would be handy for hauling hay or wood.

I always wanted one as well. They were definitely ahead of their time weren't they.

They regularly failed, and we had to carry them back to camp; one guy at each corner...only One mechanic in Chu Lai could keep them running...I bet he is the best Lawn Mower Engine Mechanic somewhere...Mules were not well thought of in Nam!!

That is a sweet looking tractor,
Noticed a 44 front pump with a tool bar dozer setup.
Is that factory? Might be a good setup, seems like the hyd would be really RESPONSIVE.
I have one almost the same vintage Late model 5u17959 whats the ser# on yours?

Sideseat-
Don't look now, but you have a mule following you.

When I made a fun post of us pulling our old two horse trailer with the D$2T, a buddy of mine asked me if the trailer was pushing the D$...the indignity of it all.

Nice pics-thanks.

I added the Tool Bar and #44 control but it is a dual valve 44 off a D4 Traxcavator. I wanted this set up for a Soil Mover pull scraper I have.

Here's a video of the Mule we took yesterday at my farm.
