Usually if it,s got lots of hours on it the weight rollers get flat spots on them and sometimes the pin in them and the weights themselves pins and bushings get worn and the bearing on the end of the shaft in there. It,s almost a seek and find just what parts are worn if your doing a complete overhaul. The best spring I found for them is a 5F 6413 and also other engines with the style gov. that uses that type spring. The idles, high and low will need to be checked esp. with a new spring.I have rebuilt a truck load of governors and that spring worked the best for power and found that out from one of our older engine mechanic.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
