Of Topic still yellow LW 16

Can anyone out there ofer any advice on changing an axle seal on a LW 16 Le Torneau wheel dozer. We have a manual and that is very helpful but any experience woul be appreciated before we start and get some of our own.
Not cetain of the age of this jigger possibly Australian production from late 1960's. 1968 is written in the manual as date of purchase but no way of nowing if this was origional owneer. 4/71 GM noise and smoke generator is 1965 build followed by 5 speed 2 reverse truck gearbox.
