Hello everyone
I hope you all had a Great Christmas and are enjoying the new year.

I went and looked at a D7 17A today. When inspecting it i noticed that both master tracks pins were just about broken. The bush had just about worn right through. Is this a easy problem to fix? What would be the cheapest way to fix it? I would like to it as cheaply as possible. I will only do about 30hours a year. That was the only thing wrong with it [ part from a couple of oil leaks]. The pins were in great condition and hadnt been turned. The rails were ok. It started as soon he gave it some diesel and the pony and the main ran pretty well. He took it for a bit of a drive and it seemed to go well. I will buy it for the right price. I want a rough est price for fixing the master pin so i can work out a what it going cost me to fix it and buy. Also how many cubic inch is the D339 engine and what is there maximum governed rpm? THanks

Billy - New master pins and new master bushings would be readily available from CavPower. You may have to gas-axe the old ones out, if they're broken.

The D339 is 831 cu in, and in the D7D it produces 140 FHP at a governed full load RPM of 1200. Maximum torque is at 800 RPM. You can lug these old engines down until you can nearly count the fan blades turning .. they're one of the original style, low RPM, high torque engines ..

Thanks for the help Oz Dozer. Ill ring CavPower next week and price one.

It sounds like this is my type of engine. Low RPM, Huge size, High torque, and plenty of lugging ability.....
Also there was two master pins in one track is that normal. Could i install the master pin in my workshop with two people.[nothing fancy, no hydraulic press]
