I'm replacing the plug wires on my Cat Ten with some new cloth wires from Brillman. The old wires are rubber and seem to be really stuck in the distributer cap. I was able to remove one wire but I'm not sure do you just stick the end of the stripped wire in the cap or is there a hole or some way to secure the wire? Dumb question but I'm not really sure.

Tom,
I have no experience with a ten in particular but some mags have a set screw on the "inside" side of the cap. Take a look there. Loosen it as they hold they wires.
Good luck

If the magneto is still either the G4 3rd or the GV4 Eisemann. Then you will need to remove the dist. cap and then remove one of the brushes from one of the posts that goes to a spark plug wire. Twist the brush clockwise (if I remember right) and pull out on it. At the bottom of the hole that the brush fits in there should be a screw that you can back out. This should release the spark plug wire. If I remember the new spark plug wire will need to be stripped of it's insulation 11/32 of an inch. Some of the latter replacement caps for the GV did not use this set up with the screw, but used a push in set up with the brass clip on the end of the wire like on mid 50's sparkplug wires. I hope this helps. I can post some pictures tomorrow night.
Thanks
Ken

That was it. The brushes come out clockwise direction and small screw in the bottom.
Thanks for the Help! Tom
