For a Cat NO60 pull scraper i found now finally four very good GoodYear 1600-21 tires , with daimond treat .
These are the size wich is standard on the NO60.
But on the front axle need to be 1400-21 !!
Could somebody tell me if i can fit 1600-21 on the frontaxle as well?
What would be the problem ??

Never say never but it would be very difficult to do.
The rims, hubs, bearings and spindles are not interchangeable.

There are two problems that I can think of, straight up. One - the clearance between the tyres and the gooseneck may be reduced to the point where the tyres hit the gooseneck when turning sharply, and the front axle is pivoting at the same time. The pull scrapers front axles have to regularly turn at 90° to the frame to enable sharp turns.

Two - the increased diameter of the front tyres lifts the front of the scraper and may result in unacceptable changes to the geometry of the bowl operation. This means that the bowl would lower into the ground by a reduced amount, and affect cutting ability.

Well , thank you for your answers.
Old Magnet : our tiredealer confirms that it is not EASY to put these on, but that the tire is standing more round !!!

OzDozer, the two answers you gave me is what i was thinking also what could be wrong.
I toucht that `why didt the Cat people put diferent size tires on 1 machine😕

Is there a chance to find 1400X 21 tires ,
If so i have 2 1600X21 goodyears wich are very good ones.
For me its no problem if this is in the US.

Also still looking for 4 new 23.5X25 GoodYear SGL 2A tires to fitt on a DW6 !!

Hi Gilbert. Wish I could help you. From looking at the bulletin board over the last number of years, my impression is that all those old tires, especially the diamond tread as used on the Cat pans, are virtually impossible to locate. The correct tires make the machine look more authentic. There are a lot of guys who restore old automobiles (and trucks), so the tire companies have a large enough market to justify the cost of manufacturing reproduction tires. But, unfortunately, there will never be a large enough market to manufacture tires for pans. Good luck in your search. Enjoyed the photos! GWH

Coker tire will mold two tires if he has the molds but they will not be cheap.
Years ago the Cokers started buying old molds and stock piling them. I know of one person who had them mold some odd ball truck tire for a restoration and he said they where expensive.

Chuck, your post was interesting. Adds to the store of knowledge. At some point, cost is a limiting factor, and for many of us, cost prevents getting involved in some restorations. GWH

Hi! You could order the 60 Scraper with 16.00 X 21 tires on the front from the factory. The front wheels and axles were modified to mount larger tires. See the attached sheet.
Thanks

GWH, thank you for your reply , and i agree with you that the box will look much nicer with 4 good and simular tires !!!

Chuck c , also thank you for your information.
The front tires 1400-21 would be good to remould !!!
Do you have any if there is this diamond pattern / mould ??
If there is , what would this cost more ore less?

Ken, your answer/ message make me happy , and its my question when i started this topic, can i fit 1600-21 on the front axle !
I see that the operator must operate allert !!

Now is my question, is the only differance two wider rims ?
Or is the front axle different, higher in the middle , or wider ??
I have two more tires, and also the tires wich i found had rims , wich are the good size for 1600-21.

Thank you very much for the spec sheet, never heard this before.
Could you scan is 100% 1 to 1 because when i print it out , i cant read the description.
