Here is me plowing 2 years ago in april when we got 18 inches of heavy snow after the ground thawed. Plow truck broke a u-joint and the tractor just kept digging in and spinning tires in the mud. Today we got 6 inches then 4 hours of rain and more snow 3-5 more. 23 degrees and dropping to around 0. Sounds good to me.

So far here in the hills of eastern Oregon at around the 5,000' level we've only had several light snowfalls so I've been plowing with my ol' trusty 4 wheeler. I save the D4 for deeper stuff and longer driveways. At a guess I'd say we're several feet short of snow at this point as compared to most winters. By now the snowmobiling is generally pretty good. .but I haven't even fired mine up yet:(

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am sure there will be more pictures of the Cat pushing snow to come. But here is some highlights from years and Cats of past. For my old buddy Delta Dirt :D. One of the Cats is a 1941 D2-3J, and 1948 D2-5U, and last but not least, the favorite Cat that I have ever owned and I miss the old girl horibly 1938 D6...:(

Hello guys. I just wanted to mention that I am also living in Chautauqua county in New York, and yes, we get lots of snow. I haven't had to resort to breaking my 9U out of winter storage yet, but the winter isn't over yet either :D

Hi GWH. I'm in Frewsburg, about 1/2 mile from the Catt. county line. It's a small world isn't it!

Yes, indeed, it is a small world! Next time I'm out that way I'll need to stop and visit a few collectors. There is you and Ron Meeder in Chautauqua Co. I was out there last September with my cousin doing genealogy, but it left no time or energy for Cat visiting, or maybe I should rephrase that, "Tom Cattin' around". GWH

In the category of not really needing to use the cat yet but happy to find an excuse... I cleared a small drift so the wife could get into our garage. I think a shovel would have been faster in this case.

That produces another question. I killed the pony motor while engaging the diesel on my D2-5U. How are you supposed to disengage the diesel to get the pony going again? (I made good use of having an electric start on the pony!)
