Take that Gates part number to a place that sells Dayton (Dayco) belts and get a Dayton belt as we found them to be the best belt or were when I was working yet at the Cat dealer. Dayton at that time made belts for the Cat factory but don,t know if they do today yet.If we needed belts not furnished by Cat or for other applications we got the Dayton.

Chad,

The more I think about it, I think cat still makes the fan belt for caterpillar 22...Try to part number from the parts book.

I was hoping to get a belt put on tonight. Does anyone know if the PV series 15 belt is the same as a 22?

Chad,

Cat belt for a twenty two is Cat part number 6B-1039-DF. They still make it.

NAPA number for a PV-15 is 25-24438. Appears to be thinner than the 22 belt

They look close, but I could not locate them when I took a quick look in the parts book so I cannot be sure.

Good luck!

I found the old part number in the parts books for you. It is 2B463.

It shows the same part number fo the PV-15 and the twenty two belt.

Chad - Well, you're in luck! .. it just so happens, that I have my 1937 Thermoid fanbelt catalog right here .. and the Thermoid P/N is V-98.
Now, if you just run down to your local Thermoid dealer .. I'm sure they'll have one on the shelf, ready and waiting for ya .. 😄 😄

Seriously .. the good part about the catalog info is that it gives the precise dimensions of the fanbelt, right down to the angle of the belt wall .. and it also shows (if the catalog is correct) .. that the Ten, the Fifteen, the Twenty, and the Twenty two, all share the same fan belt .. 😊
