Chug, I don't get the magazine but if there short on articles I have an extensive thread on ACME on the rebuilding of a High Output D8. The first time out after a complete rebuild was at Carl's play day.
If the magazine is interested please contact me mmcwilliamsbak.rr.com
Mike,
That sounds like a great topic for an article. That's the type of stuff that would be interesting to read about.
I also found it interesting to see Caterpillar Twenty serial number 8C506 listed as being at the show. That tractor was sitting in my garage during the show.
Must be a typo.
Chugwater, I was unable to attend the Woodland show. If I had taken the time and money to transport a machine to a once in a lifetime show with diesel fuel above $4 a gallon, I would be very happy to see my name listed in appreciation for my efforts. As you can well imagine, posting pictures of every tractor would have been impossible unless ACMOC were printing an encyclopedia, so listing the participants seems to be the next best thing. Also, keep in mind that this latest issue was the follow-up to the previous coverage from Woodland. I think it appropriate to thank all those who contributed to the success of the show. If you have any submissions, I am sure they will be taken for consideration.

Gotta agree with Bruce, granted, maybe there isn't a lot of substance in this issue "as there should be more more technical info in the future"
The mag is generally a little lacking of substance in my opinion, that being said, the people that made this happen, spent untold and "unpaid" hours and dollars should be given a "pass" for the WHOLE magazine in my opinion.
Thank you guys for all you did, I for one can live with one magazine devoted to this once in a lifetime show wich I wish I could have spent all 3 days there.
Don
Good point Don. I'm sorry I brought it up.
What's funny to me, is the guy that sent three pictures of his tractors. He is from Woodland and didn't bring them to the BSOT, but got them in the Magizine as to share the glory. I have received complaints on the phone about them.-glen
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, 7Upuller.
Good point. Me, I'm still trying to find time to name and catalogue 1,900-odd photos so I think GWH has done an awesome job of getting that list together - maybe with the above exception.
Glen:
I found it odd that the owner of the Holt would put pictures in the ACMOC when he would not allow the tractor to be brought to the show for fear of someone stealing parts off of it. I know that he came to the show and was amazed at all of the wonderful tractors and the extreme effort that many collectors put into bringing all of their wonderful tractors and equipment to the show. I am certainly glad that all of the other wonderful collectors "took a chance and brought their tractors and equipment". To the best of my knowledge, the only thing that was stolen at the show was the fuel out of the State of California grader and snow plow. Obviously some collector believed that he/she paid for the fuel and was therefore entitled to help themselves.
Oh well, if that is all we have to bitch about (except the extremely hot temperatures) then it must have been a pretty good show.
Willie and Don loaded the Aultman Taylor at the Best Ranch last night and it is headed home this morning. As far as I know, that is the last tractor that the committee is responsible for getting home. Once it is delieved early this afternoon I will sleep easier knowing that we as a committee have now safely returned all of the wonderful tractors that were entrusted to us to display for the benefit of all of the attendees.
Thanks again Willie who has been there from start to finish. Now, you, Pete and Glen get your stuff out of there and close the chapter!!
The DVD is in final production and will be ready to ship about Dec 1, 2008. For those of you who have not ordered the DVD, there is an ad in the new ACMOC or go to www.bestshowontracks.org and follow the link.
