That's exactly what I mean.Seems like there should be seals to prevent that.Do you mean it's fuming from the hand crank right angle drive?

Do I have to take the whole housing off the side of the engine or can it be replaced with the housing in place?There is a seal in there, it's fairly easy to replace, it was still available through Cat when I replaced mine a few years ago.
