Pony Engine Carb inlet fitting

I have seen people use 1/4 NPT fittings on the carburetor inlet, but that can leak or split the carburetor casting. What do people use for an inlet fitting if the CAT part is not available? The book shows a ferrule and collar screwing into the carburetor inlet.

Correct fitting is an inverted flare nut and ferrule. Thread size is 9/16-18 tpi.

Hi Top,
Any good auto/truck parts dealer should be able to supply the correct ferrule & collar.
That D7C of yours is a good tractor. There is a really nice all metal model of the D7C with angle blade available on both eBay and Amazon for $99.99. I bought on to remind me of my father's D7C.
