hello all.im at my d7 again this time brake band replacement.the mew bands wont clear the drum and final drive.the studs contact the housing when i try to rotate the 3 peice band.the original was 22mm thick so it slipped right through.the new band studs and band thickness is 34 mm..does anyone have any solutions?

I am not sure but when we instaled some brakes in my D7 we had to instaled the 2 front bands togeter and we turning them in front and we instaled the 3 band

That's how I installed it.rotated the front two and connected the rear band.vut the rear band studs will not pass under the drum.

If your 3 band are bolted togetter the studs should not be in bottom and did you instaled all the parts on anchor and am not sure but should have more 1 inch under drum and housing it ben 40 years I did not tuch these dozers

The studs point down.so did the old ones.my hand won't fit under the drum all the way its a tight fit.

It's been a long time since I did brakes like this, but I think Hector is telling you the studs don't go under the drum they stay on the back side.
Hook up the anchor plate and you will see this.

I do not remember if it was when you remove the brake band or the stering cluch we have to removed the anchor

There is a copy of the D7 17A service manual in the ACMOC library. You have to be a paying member not just a freebie user to access it.
