Does anyone have a source for the rubber molding that holds the glass in on the old CAT model 12 road graders. I was able to find good glass panels but the old rubber is hard as a rock.
The part number is no longer available from CAT.
Thanks. Michael

Please keep this thread updated with your findings as I need to do the same with my no12. Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy, I actually have a piece of the old so I took measurements. On the Steele website, product number 70-3170-99 looks to be a real close match. But before I do that, I am going to take my piece to my local CAT dealer and see if they can match it. I'll keep this thread updated of my findings.
Post some pictures of your grader. Does it have the scarifier? I'm looking for one.

There used to be a company called Placerville Glass? They supplied me with moldings for one of my Kenworth restorations; the windshield is flat glass and the molding uses a locking strip. They used to sell it by the feet. Courtland Truck Works most likely has similar material for Peterbilt window glass.
***A side note*** I have used this molding as a replacement for the rubber gasket for the air cleaner intakes on orchard tractor hoods here; works like a charm! JM

I had to replace mine in a 112 grader 4 years back and ended getting a glass company to cut glass, molding and installation. At the time the Cat price was ridiculous as it was about $200 for the ready made molding for the small lower windows in the front of the cab. (horrific hail storm)
