Hello from, TX. I hope someone has some good info for me. I Have a 1984/85 D4E. The previous owner cut the track adjuster off on one side and as a result he lost the pilot plate 2V9021. Apparently this item has been discontinued and I have had no luck in finding one. I am hoping someone here might know where I could find one or is able to give me the dimensions of it so that I can have one made. Thank you in advance for any help.

I know of one person that might have the part you are looking for. Mr. D4e might see this thread and respond. He has owned many of these gems.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "pilot plate"? My 6 roller machine is at my mother's downtown farm, and a bit muddy to measure anything. JM

The pilot is the end plate that the rod goes through and tightened down with the nut, keeping the spring compressed.

I would be curious whether 2V9025, which appears to be plentiful and cheap, isn't basically the same part.

There is a difference, the 2V9021 has the retaining nut shrouded. Is the one on the other side correct? So you already have a pattern?

OM, I was scrounging through the AVSpare site trying to see the differences between the 5 and 6 roller frames, but it is a bit tricky for me to navigate.
Does the 6 roller setup use a longer recoil spring or does it have an extension between the tensioner and idler yoke like the D5/D6? I've only seen one long track frame D4 in person and it either had its tin covers or I didn't pay any attention to the recoil spring .

The recoil spring is longer on the six roller frame. I'm not sure about the five roller, but the six roller also has a smaller inner spring.
I have attached a picture of the ID tag. Thanks again for your help. I have been trying to find this part for over a year.
