Hi guys,
I have seen many blades used on the D-2.What are the correct factory and aftermarket blades for a Cat D-2?
Thanks

Cat blades include the 2S (straight) and 2A (angle) blades, which are the standard mount blades. Then you have the toolbar blade (I don't know the prefix for that arrangement) which I think is only a straight blade, no angling option but someone will correct me if I'm wrong. The toolbar itself is a #42. LaPlante-Choate offered a blade and hydraulic control too. I had one on my 3J but I can't remember if it was straight or angling.
Cheers,

Depending on how you define "correct factory" there was no correct factor from Caterpillar until after WW2. Cat had a marketing deal with Letourneau I think and promoted using their blade on dozers built before WW2. But I am not remembering what Letourneau had for a D2. As I don't think I have seen a D2 with the high over head, "head ack rack" Letourneau is famous for. But there where companies making blades to fit a D2 long before Cat did it. Not many months back a list of blade manufacturing companies was put together on this board in a discussion of dozer blades. But I am not the guy that knows how to find it.
