1954 Caterpillar D2 5U14421, the snow picture was last night, I just got the loader working and was seeing if I can get through 17" of snow at 7 degrees Fahrenheit well enough to start cutting and dragging trees again. This is my first crawler and yes it definitely has no problem with the snow, wow.

Not many sights as beautiful as sunrise over a fresh blanket of snow!
I was not involved in running steel tracks, but would suggest keeping an eye on the buildup of ice between the rails.
Hopefully someone with experience in snow with crawler can offer better knowledge.
Enjoy - Stay Safe and "WARM" (some canvas curtains help direct the heat from the engine back onto the operator.)

Hi, d2gary.
Yep, I noticed them when the 'pitchers' were first posted and thought to mineselfer that it just might possibly make for RUFF riding on hard ground.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
