I was browsing thru the vast number of books that Gary M. donated for the benefit of members. There were so many that Kurt B. brought to SM earlier this year, I didn’t feel the need to bring more.
I think I will take a quantity of them to Tulare CAFES in April 2024 to distribute.
What I felt was neat, I opened a late D4 parts book and it had the former owners name and serial number of their machine. Not far from my 44,185 so I think I need to put $20 in the cookie tin/donation box and keep it for myself. Not sure if anyone is familiar with the name of the Japanese farmer? Can’t recall if the stash originally came from Idaho or Oregon. I might have to research the name and see who owned 44,177 just for fun. JM

Great idea Angelo. I very much enjoy his serial number and model directory. One day I hope to compile my short list of iron and perhaps he would be willing to add them to his directory, as it is a cool site. JM

Is there a list of the books that are available? I have a Feb 1928 owner's and a March 1928 parts book for the L series Twenties and I would like to find earlier versions than what I have now.
Thanks
Ken Naylor

Sorry, no list of books; I should make a quick list of what is on the shelf here though (thanks). There isn't anything here newer than for various series of D4s on up; motor graders, power units, blades, CCUs, so forth.
I actually own a Twenty now, I should look for those as well. JM
