Thank you Bob! You owe me $10 lol! Lifting the blade takes weight OFF the sprocket! Besides the blade is already chained up. I was taking a wild guess at what could cause the sprocket to be lifted. After taking a closer look I could see the front idler is either mistakenly installed in the high position or has other problems which allow it to be higher than the bottom rollers. The weight of blade has caused the right roller frame to "nose dive" thereby lifting the sprocket. Problem CORRECTLY solved. At least I was able to give you a good chuckle.

Man, it's hard to type with tears in my eyes this is even funnier than your last post.
When you chain up a blade on a tractor with an equalizer spring you have to chain both sides or the total weight of the blade hangs on one side.
If you look at the picture of the blade from the front you will see the left side of the tractor is pulled down on the springs.
This creates a dangerous situation if that cheesy chain should break.
Either The idler on the right side is broke or the track frame is broke.
A high idler would only make a one and a half inch different.
I find it humorous that all of the Cat experts on here have not noticed the right sprocket has a new segment on the top but all the bottom ones are wore out!

Hi Scott, Please check the hydraulic system oil level. The instructions for that are available in the library. To find the info in the library: 1. Under document type select Operators Instructions. 2. Leave all other options blank except under ACCESSORIES select Bulldozers. 3. Scroll down until you find 7S blade Cable and Hydraulic (I know your D7D has a 7A blade but the info for the hydraulic system are the same.)
This is a quirk with the library search, if you enter anything other than Document Type and Accessories you won't find anything!
And yes, older Caterpillars have separate O.M.I. and Parts Books for everything.

Craig -Well Bob, I find your responses ridiculous too. First of all it makes no difference which side of an angle blade is chained up, the c-frame will distribute the weight to both sides. If you and kracked1 had paid attention to my entire post you would have noticed I said "...or has other problems that allow it to be higher than the bottom rollers."
While I admit to having a brain lapse in my "frozen track" response, I quickly corrected it.
Hi Scott, Please re-read my post about the hydraulic system. The hydraulic system has a separate O.M.I. for itself. The O.M.I. you have coming covers only the bare tractor.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
