Nice photos Chuck. You can keep the blade on so you can build us a roadway to park some cranes along in the spring. Keep up the good work.

Must be nice to be able to burn your debris instead of having to have it hauled off. What was wrong with the building? the frame didn't look bad, roof didn't look too bad. Around here that would be a remodel, leave one wall to avoid $50k in county fees.

Cr, the cottage was being held up by cinder blocks, no foundation. Thye brother in law turned the heat off in the winter because no one stayed there so a good part on the floor joists had sustained damage from condensation. The new house will have a full basement.

If there is one thing thing I can't stand is a poor foundation. A number of the old bulidings and barns around here that were built before WWII have either fallen down in the wind or been torn down due to poor foundations despite the fact the buildings made at that time were all made out of clear redwood 2x4's and 1x12's for the wall panels. The shop that I keep my stuff in is a slab foundation and had a large (spreading) crack running lengthwise down the center. It's too bad as the wood is much better than anything you can buy today.
Will you use the cat and scraper to dig the basement?

I once jacked up a large two story barn and poured a foundation under one wall and under all the center support points. It worked; I saved the barn. It's not all that hard. You leave half of the building on solid ground while you work on the flying half. You need a truck load of mill ends for cribbing and all the screw jacks in the county!

CR, no on the cat and pan basement dig. My brother in law contracted the whole job except it flooring and cabinets.
