I think I found the perfect yard gizmo for myself. My gal friend isn’t too pleased, because it doesn’t require 4 new shoes every 3 months and fed 2x a day! Oh well, score one CAT and lose one gal…oops!
Found a nice running and what I consider pretty straight for being 90 years old, Caterpillar 20 gasser. An orchard seat too! Go figure?
Small world too, as it comes from Mike Bush’s neighbor and it originally came only 1/4 mile from my parents best friends a mile from where I grew up! 
Long story was the new property owner didn’t realize it existed, as the parcel he purchased was overgrown with weeds.
I will be looking for some bling bling to dress it up. Before or after I buy a pony for my friend, that is the BIG question of the week. 
A fuzzy photo and I will be asking for help regarding the 20. Thanks for allowing me to ramble. JM

Thanks everyone. I am getting a quick course on "gassers". It runs and functions pretty darn well for a 90 year old. Takes off on a partial tug of the crank handle, etc.
I have to give the seller credit; he was determined to make it worthwhile to someone; with exception of the home made cushions and a crunched up right louvered panel, everything seems to be quite original. I think it gets a long awaited bath, and I plan to keep the paint "as is".***tool box needs TLC***
Deas: I waited exactly 24 hours to pass on CL before I called. Apparently, this 20 has been advertised elsewhere, and several tight lipped "friends" hah! I don't know if they are trying to help by not saying anything or??? Mum is the word? It actually was not quite so fun to acquire, since I did the "poaching" in my own back yard sort of speak, but so close by, I could not pass it up. I will call our family friend and ask if he remembers it as a child, since he lived practically next door to it.
Skinner: does that scraper work bass ackwards? Does one actually pull on a rope to make it go down, rather than it being in cut position? Who was the manufacturer? Lots of questions! And thanks for the # built, I was not sure. It is serial #75 BTW. JM

I had an 8C 20 for a while. It was stuck and I tried everything to get the head off, with no results. A few years later a fellow offered me more than I thought it was worth so he got it. I think that it had a replacement engine in it. There was no data plate on the engine and no numbers stamped where the plate would have been. Cat probably sold replacement engines for the 15 and I believe that the only difference between an 8C 20 engine and a 15 engine was the intake manifold. Cute little tractors.

J.M.  You may be right about that rope pull for the bucket it’s definitely a old one. I would say that 8C 20 is one of the more collectible gas cats  if you’re into them like I am.
now just be on the lookout for it’s little brother the 7C 15 only 307 built.  Skinner
