I will be following this thread. Many of us have 44s as well as 41s, I would guess that has affected the operation of your pump?
It would be interesting to know if a hydraulic shop can "Parkerize" it, and lap it smooth, or have a machine shop (crank or camshaft experts?) rebuild it to specs?
You would not be the only one with this situation, being these units are so old.
One wonders if a new one is floating about in the inventory of a dealer somewhere.

Thank you for the offer of the hydraulic 44 unit. I'll keep that in mind. It is the distance from me.
That is not my hydraulic unit, just posted it to show they come up. Where are you located? I may have a valve assembly but it will be a few days before I have time to look.
