Just like the thread says: The Tech Library saved me; I became motivated and needed to mend one of the #40 scrapers, as one has a weeping apron cylinder. Sure as sh*t, I could not find my 40 parts book, only the maintenance book. I let my fingers do the walking, and presto, I got the page that I needed and a list of part numbers. Talk about saving a LOT of aggravation!
BIG THANKS for having this feature for paid members. I realize it is a lot of work to scan and upload the books, hats off to everyone that has contributed to the library. JM

Sir, please tell me how to get started using this library. I’m less than a month in this group. Thanks. Mike Hudson

Hi, Mike Hudson.
You need to be a financial member to be able to access the library. There is a largish yellow button up near the top left of the page with the words, "Library Index", on it. The button will turn red when you put your cursor on it. Click that and it SHOULD, if you are a paid-up member - and if the programmers have done it right - take you to the tech library.

Seemed to work for juiceman.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Mr Plant I have been a paying member for several weeks. That isn’t the issue. I think I am just not smart enough because one time I accidentally got it. So do you type the machine you are looking to work on in search? Just give me a starting lplace. Mike Hudson

Mike, yes, if you type the machine in, say, D4 it will give you everything D4 in the library. You can narrow it down by selecting a publication type, such as parts book, operator's manual, etc.

Hi, Mike Hudson.
See? It needed somebody smarter than me too as I have never had a need to visit the tech library since I don't have any machines to work on.

I just sit out here and snipe from the bushes - - - - like this bloke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43lkXlYPybk

Mike Hudson: what machine or subject are you looking for? Admittedly, I have only had to use the tech library a couple of times, practice makes perfect; it seems to get easier to navigate the more one uses it. The hardest problem I think I have is scrolling up and down the pages; I am not a computer ("Confuser" as RAY54 calls it) savvy person, so if I can do it, anyone else should have no issues.
Keep in mind that they are continually growing the library, so everything isn't in there yet, but most popular/common units. JM

Yea Mr juiceman thank you. I own Cat D2 4 U series. My pinion isn’t perfect. Sometimes it grinds other times I can’t get it to interlock. I have watched several utubes but something is always left out and I thought this might help. I will make it I know but I like to read anyway. Thank you for your efforts I absolutely don’t want to tick anybody off. The administration’s made it clear they are volenteers so that told me they don’t have time for folk like us. But thanks again and tonight I’m going to try again, maybe get my wife to help. Mike Hudson

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
