Can't tell you for sure whether it will work or not. Same bore and stroke but the part numbers for the RD6 heads and head gasket are different than the D8 part numbers for the same era.

What's wrong with your old head?
Zimmerman in Iowa most likely has a RD6 head. I believe he also has the sleeve kits.
If not, Regal sells the sleeves, however they need some machining done before they can be used. Otto has the ring sets, and Olson gaskets can get head gasket.

The RD6 heads, 3b3211 and 2b6480 cross directly to a variety of D13000 engines and indirectly to the 2u D8. so it should work, might need to switch some parts.

The major thing one has to watch is whether heads have recessed valves or if they extend out of the face of the head. One has to have correct pistons to match head, so that valves do not hit piston.
