Hi to all,
after one year of sitting, i notice the engine oil level of my 951c sn 69h2969 is over the maximum level. Looks like it's diluted with diesel. The loader is equipped with 3304PC engine with scroll fuel injection system. I think the diesel may go through the transfer pump.
Where do you think it can come from? What can I check? Do you have any other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance

I would be suspect of the transfer pump seals. Not many opportunities for fuel to leak into the engine on the 3304.
Leakage past the injection pumps is possible but pretty rare.

Thank you very much Old Magnet,
how can I check if there are fuel leaks from the injection pumps?
I intend to suck some oil from the engine to bring it back to the correct level, start the engine and lift the arms to check the engine.
I will aspirate the oil so as to understand how much diesel has mixed in it.

Risk of doing damage if there is a percentage of diesel in the oil?

I had the oil replaced last year and it hadn't run more than 50 hours...

Thanks

Hi, Cat951.
I think you would be pretty safe just running the engine for long enough to raise the loader arms - especially if you have the original safety stay to hold them up unshipped and ready to put in place..

I'm no 'ex-spurt' but I am inclined to agree with Old Magnet that the transfer pump is the most likely source of the leak.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

does it smell like raw fuel?. many cat machines were to be checked at idle speed. if so its marked on the dip rod. nearly all diesels are prone to leaks from the lift pump seals with age. they go hard and eventually fail.
