So the next problem is the Carb. I opened it up and found a piece cracked. The float does move and seams to be of decent shape. Any ideas on if I need to replace the part or is there some bandaid to put on it to help me get the tractor running?
I have yet to try to pull start it due to the carb but will give it a try once the carb is on line.
Thanks,
Karl

My Twenty hadn't been run in about 18 years. It had no compression in three cylinders and little in the fourth. I put Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders, changed the oil and put in fresh gas, retorqued the head, cleaned and gapped the points and replaced the plugs. I about wore my arm out cranking it, but it finally started. It spit, puked and blew oil everywhere until I covered the radiator to get the heat up. Then the rings finally seated and it runs great.
I should have pull started it like these guys are saying. It would have saved a lot of time.

Hey Driver- that crack sure looks brazable, at least I would try, unless there is something I can't see...

If I were to braze the crack would that stop the fuel from coming out the botom strainer? The float feels like it works but I think the fuel is going through the crack. Would JB weld work since I dont know how to braze?
thanks

I think I saw the part you need at Woodland. Bill Cambell (705)488-2802 had new cast out of brass parts on his table. Bill

Bill, eventually I will be sending the carb up to Mr Cambell. For now I will just be trying to get the unit started. JB weld seams like my best option.
thanks,
Karl

The main body of the carburetor is brass. there are four screws holding the split part to the main body. I have had several of these carburetors apart, that piece was not brass. I am assuming that this one is not either.
