Found a nice D6 for sale. Wants 10,500.00 for it.
Anyone know when they stopped putting pony motors on these?
This one is electric start but I don't know any other particulars yet.
Guy has just used it around the farm and doesn't know what percentage the undercarriage is. I would use it for the same purposes.

What model D6 is it?
Pony motors were available as options up to about the time the 3000 series of engines came about.

Ok
Here is what I found.
D6B 37A1881.
What does this thing weigh?
It cranked right up.(electric start)
It funtioned from what I could tell properly.
I did not try to push anything with it.
The machine has been in this guys family for about 25 years. (second owner)
It has a 6 cylinder motor. What motor series is it?
The sprokets look good and the pins that the sprokets ride on were not worn badly. I'm not sure what bad is.
It has a hydraulic lift blade.
The dozer has not been off the farm in over 25 years.
He said he dug a couple of ponds with it.
He said it does not use oil.

The D6B would have the D333 engine in it.

Is that a bad thing? The motor seemed to run well.

Any idea what it weighed?

I don,t have anything on the weight of them but they had their problems the same as other engines but keep your eye on the coolant temp. as sometimes the head gasket went in them and let compression into the coolant and it wouldn,t circulate properly. Also head cracking and low liner projection I found with them related to the other causes.Make sure you keep the radiator clean from debris and keep anti freeze and rust inhibitor in the coolant.

Thanks guys for the info.
It's got an angle blade but it's not has heavy as I thought.
Any issues that I should be aware of with this tractor?

If it's seen light duty farm use and been well maintained your probably ok if your use is similar. The D330 and D333 were not great engines and are prone to head cracking, spun bearings and cooling problems. The rest of the tractor is fine....basically the same as the old D6's and early D5's.
Be sure to check for bubbles in the radiator that would indicate head sealing problems.
