I felt sorry for this kid, he was pretty upset. you'll notice oil on the filter housing and if you look hard under the radiator. He
may have bumped a tractor ahead and ruptured the oil cooler, but I am not sure, did not see the incident - if there was one - might have been just one of those things.

Tough break
Someone may come through and put another seat beneath him, pick his spirits back up.
Thanks for sharing

Dang, too bad. I’m sure he will remember that day for awhile. I still feel bad for him I’m sure it was a big day before that moment.

Sounds like everyone involved were not injured? We can all be thankful!
Maybe we can benefit, find ways to improve, increase our safety margins?
Spacing, offset paths, need for more "controlling officials" on parade route helping to controll movement of participants and spectators?
So many factors could be involved, neither human or machine are infalable!
So easy to become distracted!
This is not the first incident of a contact at an event.
I feel bad for those involved.
Lastly, I AM NOT FINDING FAULT HERE, LETS BE THANKFUL!
The involved need support an understanding, that is what we should endeavor to provide.
Take care of each other, stay safe!

Maybe the clutch was adjusted to tight, and he could get it to release soon enough.

The young man's face says it all. "Well I'm not going to do that again."
The sadness in his heart, the peeved look in his eyes and that big ol' hat I bet if you put a guitar in his hands he could wright a sad country ballad.
Happy is a relative term cuz in about fifty years he'll look back on that day and laugh like all get out.😂 He will have not forgotten so he most likely will not need the picture.
You should have seen my dad's brand new black F100, 1975 Ford XLT shortbed 4x4 w/360 and C6 auto wrapped around a four foot concert culvert. I don't need a picture of that to remind me.

I was there but did not see the incident. That kid is the future of our club and should be encouraged to continue his love for Caterpillars.
