Hello. I'm new to the site this week.I just picked up 1947 D2 and I need to put new seals in the Hydraulic cylinders for the Blade. Does anyone know if there is a Caterpillar kit available for this and if so the P/N please.

provided the shafts are pitted or scored yes nipping them up could work. if the shafts are pitted or scored the cheapest option is ta have a new bit of bright chrome shaft welded to the existing rod eye and fit new seals.

Thanks everyone. Busy times so just getting back on the D2 maintenance. The cinch/adjustment nuts on the Cylinder packing collars were pretty loose. I would estimate maybe 10 ft lbs. I gave them an even half turn on each so now approx 20 ft lbs. Maybe I will get lucky. Need to add some hydraulic fluid and I was reading another post regarding hydraulic fluid type. I have a generic hydraulic fluid for drives, power steering systems etc. I will top up with that and change it all when I get the leaks solved.

we use a universal tractor transmission, hydrualics and differential oil in ours. caltex textrans tdh it was developed for the trans final drives and hydraulics of caseih/austoft sugar cane harvesting machinery. it has cat to-4 approval and works just fine in the hydrualics and transmission. its also good in most wheeled tractor drivelines too.
