Yes I agree, around here non hot rod farm tractors are hard to find. I wonder if the fenders are original or upgraded? Seems I have seen more 4R with the stamped steel vs the heavier flat fender. Those ones definitely make for a better base for the canopy. A little time to remove the blade and winch and you would have a very cool plowing bee tractor.

Really nice! Fingers crossed that it will have a parking space inside one of your sheds. My buddy just bought a D2 that was left outside in NY with predictable results..
Cheers,

What is the serial number? My second tractor was a 4R 1327 I thought it was a 43 model, it was army surplus had olive drab paint underneath the yellow. For a 23 year old kid that did not have a lot of money to spend on CATS that 4R got a lot of work done and got me to where I could afford to get something bigger and better, was a lot better than the 3 cylinder D6 I had before it. 17afarmer

I'm currently trying to finish the engine on our 4R (4R1143). One of those projects that started as "let's just get the pony running" and turned into a rebuild of the pony and the main. But ours came with the ranch we bought, one owner prior to us. Olive drab underneath the yellow. Glad to see another one out there.
Too bad Florin Tractor closed. Dana had a lot of NOS parts for that tractor.

I put time in on 4R 100, only serial number I ever remembered the whole thing. I don't remember any olive green ever showing. As early a number as that maybe sold before the war started for the USA. Other than dust in master clutch linkage needing constant attention, never any trouble with it tending 75 acres of walnuts. Some how after I was not around that ranch they used the AC crawler for everything. Then after sitting a year or ?? the pony would not start. Was sold and direct start conversion added and went to a hobby farm. The story about this machine was the first I heard of removing the pony and placing the starter were the pony sat and using gears to drive it. Still never saw the starter in the the steel/rust just picture on the net from company web site, and no idea of the name anymore.
Very nice to find equipment close so you drive it home.

The one I have that has green paint was 2082, I think the other one is 184 and it appears to have only been cat yellow.

That looks like a very nice original D6. It certainly deserves to be stored inside. Great find!!
