Great video! I have never seen a "three wheeled" Bobcat. I must live in a vacuum.

I’ll add to the thread. Majority of the attachments, such as trenchers, grapples, sweepers, anything you can think of, we’re designed for BobCats by an inventive guy named Bob DuBose, from Durham, CA. His company “TINK” and Guy Rents was an early BobCat hub for Northern California. Add to the story, his brother Ben DuBose was our local track man! Ben also had mules, and was the actual maker of leather goods and canvas items for the old Caterpillar 30s, 60s! JM

Thanks for sharing. I started with a 610 Bobcat in the early 80's . Used to go out and try to make a few bucks on the weekends with it cleaning barns and doing light grading.

I was just a kid and someone was demonstrating one at the county fair beef barn. That was the first one I ever saw. I don't know who would been a dealer anywhere around. And I guess no one else did ether, as it took years before I saw another in person. Very impressive compared to the Ford Jubilee with front loader. As 4H or FFA kids we where expected to show up before 8 and shovel bedding straw into the center walkway and the fair tractor pushed it out and loaded it on a truck. But one morning this "other thing" was helping and spinning and a few other tricks.

Hi, kittyman1.
Last I heard, Melroe Bobcat was now owned by Ingersoll Rand who were always a bit that way.

Since the Bobcat history has been making the rounds and garnering lots of praise for the changes it brought to many jobs. But laments about how North American companies are going away, so the current parent of the Bobcat name is a foreign company Doosan.

Doosan purchased Bobcat in 2007. One of the most noticeable changes was the dropping of Kubota engines in favor of their own Doosan brand. I know there was quite a bit of concern when that happened as Kubota diesels were always very well liked. Many at the time including myself had never even heard of Doosan so there was worry about reliability.

I have now owned a couple machines with newer Doosan engines and they seem to run as well as the old Kubota's.
