1936 RD6 injection pumps and rack stuck

Good evening,
Unfortunately I have not started my 1936 RD6 since 2016 and now 3 injector pump pistons are stuck in the depressed position and the control rack is stuck.   I knew that rack was starting to stick because a couple times a year I turn the motor with the pony crank and move the controls.  I thought the rack shaft was sticking in the housing but it will move back and forth a tiny bit.
I believe it is stuck in the pumps.
Anyone know how to remove the injector pumps.  I cant tell how to disconnect them from the rack control.  Plus, it looks like they have to be carefully adjusted!  I did not want to just start unbolting stuff, but I have turned the fuel on to get them soaking and squirted oil on the racks and been tapping around for a couple of hours with no luck.
I do not know what kind of seals are in those so I have not tried heating with propane torch yet.
Refer to attached images.
Please let me know what you know.
Thank you,
Scooter

I think you’re on the right track by going lightly. The clearance between the plunger and bore is very tight. The pumps will have a gear that will mesh in the rack. There should be timing marks on the teeth to get everything set back where it was. I would not move the adjustment on the yokes, this will change the timing. You can remove the lines and four bolts the hold the pumps in the housings. Should be able the pull each pump out individually. I would think you could use solvent and slowly work each pump individually then reinstall in the same location it came from. You will need to match the rack and pump gear, I would think it would have a timing mark to line up. The question now is, the pump is stuck, is the injectors stuck too? Let’s hope not!

It has been discussed here before and soaking with a oil that creeps, and giving it a few days to creep in has been successful. But will hazard to guess the newer fuel with less lubricant is going to be more trouble in coming years. I have no clue what a good brand of spray can lub is anymore. I believe Teflon and latter thc or tch or some such in Liguid Wrench brand was as slippery as any I had used. But have not seen it in the store now.

Maybe a different style pump but I believe besides tapping there was talk of lifting on the pump with a screw driver. Hopefully other will give you more experience.

Thank you for the replies.
I sure regretted letting it sit long enough for those pumps to freeze up.  It was a lot of work to remove them.  Because the rack on the early pumps is in their housings, the rack has to be able to move to get them out because it has to be pushed one way and the pump tilted to get one side started and them pushed the other way to get the pump out and they barely fit.

By the time I got them out, the cups had freed up so that was very helpful.  One still had the plunger stuck, but did not take much work.  There is a wire circlip to remove that was a problem on one because the ends were in the wrong location.

It was sickening to have all the crud falling in there trying to work on it.  I spent a long time cleaning, but it is not as good as I want.  I have the pumps back in and will try to prime them and get it ready to run this week.  Let you know how it goes.

I took pictures so people can see how they are assembled and have to make sure the plunger is installed correctly.

Thank you,
Scooter

What did you use for new gaskets on the fuel tubes?

It is running again and did a small job.  Seems to work fine.  I am not going to let it sit that long again.

Regarding gaskets and fuel tubes.  If I understand what your asking, I am thinking that is the copper washers and the tube that supplies the fuel.   I reused them and hoped they sealed.  I got lucky because I checked it when it was running and not a drop.
Thank you,
Scooter
