Moving on with the Steering Clutch installation marathon. Picture Trail link below.

I decided to remove the oil tube bushings. The smoke is from the boiling oil in the groove from the heat generated by the weld. I would have thought the holes in the tube would have been larger to let the oil flow easier. I may bore them a bit.

The local bearing shop found a bushing size that I hope is compatable to the tube and clutch shaft. Since I decided to replace the shaft and am putting in new rollers on the control arms it only made sense to replace the bushings.

Doing a lot of parts cleaning. I used citric acid on the arms, adjusting screws, nuts, etc. The photo is after I wired them off. I think the acid can be over done. It seemed to leave a residue and it may have done some pitting. I left them in the bath for three days. I used concentrate I mixed with water.

I did not have a camera when we rebuilt the clutches... :mad:
