I was given the opportunity to shoot a couple of pictures of this WW2 Caterpillar.  on top of the Olive drab.
Please correct me if I have made mistakes in identifying the dozer blade or CCU

Dad served in WW2 as a Diesel Mechanic - Engineering Battalion, US Army and spoke of the D7M's and Turnapull " Super C"s.   D7's were all equipped with Dozers and LeTourneau scrapers, I can not recall if LP or LS scrapers.   (would I be correct in assuming this would be same type of CCU and Dozer?  Where did the 7M come into the series?  Behind the 9G and infront of the 4T-3T?)

After the 9G, 1940-1944, 7M1-9999, before the 3T, 4T. There was also a 1T1001-1138 built in1943.

Hi CTS.
There was also a 6T D7 series built for the U.S. Navy, all built in the same time frame, at least as I understand it. I suspect that production of the 1T, 4T and 6T stopped VERY shortly after VP day due to cessation of hostilities and lack of need for them.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

In the ACF thread it was concluded ACF built all the 4T D7's ? If that is true, is a safe guess that 1T was built all by one company and 6T by a third company, and Cat did the 3T's in house.

Hopefully if there was a need as great as WW2 , companies could come together like that again.

The owner of the 4T I posted the photos of in this thread had looked previously and we both looked everything over again, Could find nothing relating to AFC anywhere on the machine.
Not saying it could not have been painted but nothing in any of the sheet metal or the matching S/N Tags?

The ACF logo should be just under the front of the seat as shown on the photos below.
It is stamped into the sheet metal consisting of a small "a" with a "c" inside the "a" with an "f" in the center.

The blade and frame look like a La Plante Choate make to me. At least it is almost identical to the one on my D6.
