Where to order Gaskets?

More

Tried to order head gasket set for 9U today from local cat dealer and had no luck. He said 9U 28303 was not a valid serial number?  Is there another number to use for ordering head gasket?  He said cat had discontinued parts for the 9U series. I then asked about head gasket for D5 98J with a 3306 and he said the closest one was in a warehouse in Singapore?  Surely head gasket sets are not that hard to come by?  Where does everyone else go for this type of parts?  Thanks, Mike

I’ve gotten 9U parts including gaskets fairly recently.  I have found that you need to have part numbers in hand.  Here at our local Western States in Lewiston, they have the microfiche scanned into the computer.  However, the part numbers are illegible, so you need your own book.

I might have a spare parts book.

Thanks Bruce, I have a parts book. Maybe I will try them again on Tuesday armed with my own part numbers.

Speaking of gasket sets this info should be in the achieves.

Hello Old, thanks for posting the gasket kit numbers. Looks like there is no shortage of valve grind gasket sets for either the D318 or the 3306. More aftermarket options than I can count. Any aftermarket parts to be wary of? Thanks, Mike

Why can't you lift the info from the BB and set as a pdf?
