Cat 112 main clutch levers

I have an old cat 112 motor grader (ser. no. 3U3042). The bearing went out of the main clutch and destroyed the 3 clutch levers and the local Caterpillar dealer tells me these parts are no longer available. Does anyone know of a source where I might get these. My parts books shows the cat no. to be 3F8849. You all were such a great help to me in getting the pony motor going and I did get to use the machine on my road for a couple hours before the clutch went. Any help you can give me in finding these parts will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks SJ for your attempt to help. I have a friend who tells me that if I can find some used ones that are not too badly damaged, that he can rebuild them. If someone out there has some used ones that they would be willing to sell, I would appreciate a reply. Thanks

Thanks oldparker. I will give them a call. My mechanic friend tells me that he also has some sources that may have some used ones. I am supposed to go see him this morning, it's about a 40 mile drive, and I hope I can find enough gas to get there. We are having a really bad gas shortage here in NC now! Will let you know what happens.

Does the model 12 use a different one than the 112? I know a lot of the tranny parts are the same.

Replied by johnstarnes on topic Levers repaired
Hello everyone, and thanks again for your support. I finally got over to my mechanic friends house and showed him my damaged levers. He said that he had repaired several levers on old motor graders and although mine were damaged worse than any he had repaired, he would have no problem repairing mine. I watched him as he cut off the damaged ends and welded a short piece of grouser bar on each one. He shaped them with a grinder and then welded hard facing on the wear points. He is from the old school and has been repairing cat equipment for a long time and I have confidence that his repairs will work. Now if I can just get the engine back in place, maybe I can get back to blading my road. D4Jim, to answer your question, I suspect that the 12 levers may be the same as the 112 but I don't know. I don't have a parts book on the 12 to compare the parts numbers. Thanks again for all your help.
