Just received the ACMOC model of the 491 scraper and I am confused about it's operation. I figure that one cable from the tractor raises the bowl and the other moves the ejector forward to empty the bowl. How does the Apron lift work? (I noticed on the specification card that the cable on both the ejector mechanism and the bowl lift were 1/2" and the apron, 3/4") And what are the two cable spools for? Are they for extra cable, are they take up reels? Anybody got a "wiring" diagram?

ExDoc,

A cable scraper works with two cables. One drum will hoist the bowl up and gravity down. The other cable will lift the apron up to full open and then pull the ejector forward. The apron will usually gravity close first, then springs will push the ejector back.:D -glen

I think you will find the cables coming out of the D9 are simply there for show, where the hooks connect to the cables from the scraper they would not travel to well through the sheeves etc.

The apron, bowl and ejector all work as they should however the wound up cables for the bowl live in the gooseneck along with the apron, this is most likely why the apron is plastic to reduce the weight on that cable. The ejector simply has all the cables in the right place but they have no functionality.
