Flushing engine block was created by 1972RedNeck

Any suggestions how to clean the rust/dirt out of my engine block? There's at least 1/2" of crud packed around the bottom of the liners. Water just comes out clear because it's so hard and scaly.

radiator flush or luandry detergent and run it. you could also rod the passages with steel wire cable in a drill be care full though as it could rip you to shreds if it came out of the block.

if you have a freind with a steam boiler they could steam blast clean it for you.
