The pony motor dosent want to start. The questions are what spark plugs should it have? It has chanpion in it. What is the electric starters voltage 6 or 12? The pony motor dosent like to start to often and i have found that there is moisture in the points and cap i think it is condensation. What can I do to prevent this from happening? And what can i do to make it start better?
Can you rilly use the hand crank to start it? I and haveing problems with the electic starter too. Is there a replacemet for the starter or do you have to have it rebilt or find a used one?

Yes you can use the hand crank. I used mine for years on my D7 and second pull it was running. catskinner

The D8 36A pony starter motor is 12 volt.
Use NGK A6 plug for 18mm replacement.
Use NGK BP-4 plug for 14mm replacement.
You'd have to be some kinda "gorilla" to hand crank that 1246 cu. in. D342:eek:

Aaaaaahhh!! Had a brain short on that one. I didn't even occur to me at the time that it was in reference to the common practice of hand cranking the pony motor. Not a good sign:o
