What would be the chances of a 6 or 7 or help complement these big boys. A 9U D6 or 17A D7 would really look nice with tose big D9's. Just a thought!

Please consider other 1/16 scale from SpecCast, as the $100 range so much more affordable than First Gear; SC did such a great job on the many variations of the D2!! Great Job

Got my Scraper last week, Great model for the money. The Board and First Gear are doing a great job with these. Love the detail that can be had with the 1/25 scale. Any chance of a 650 or 660 scraper in the future?

Hmmm, big 3 axle scraper, now theres a model that would satisfy the punters! I would even go so far as to say that a 630B or 632 would be satisfying enough as another company could be doing the 660/666 like Lee said in regard to the DD9,s.

Why not look into doing a DW20/DW21 ?
First Gear have proved they have the technology to get the cable-controls looking and operating correctly.
A DW21 in 1:25 would look stunning.

Funny you say that WM, i was just looking through Classic Plant & Machinery mag this morning that covered Blackwells restoration of a DW21 in England and thought how well the 491 came out that a DW21 would be a great next up model. Come to think of it the model commitee have so many to choose from it must be a tough decision, maybe a ballot out to ACMOC members could be some feedback for them as to which direction members would like them to go.

Thanks for all the positive comments regarding the model committee.:) I will pass the words along to them at the meeting on Tuesday.
As for possible future models, the committee has discussed D6, D7, & D8 models as the next series of tractors, and 600 series & DW as possible additional scrapers. Wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, and mining trucks also now are starting to fit into the "40 years and older" category, so the list of possibilities increases with time.
Gavin84w, you are correct, there are a lot of things to consider before the committee requests board approval on model programs. Input from members as received in this thread is welcome. It aids the committee in their decisions.

Lee

The Cat 491 Scraper models have arrived and are being shipped to customers from First Gear. If you haven't already received yours, it will be arriving soon. :) If you haven't ordered yours, you can do so by logging onto the ACMOC Website and placing your order.

There have been some questions about the scale. The D9D, D9E, and 491 Scraper are all 1:25 scale. The future D9E with the hydraulic blade and the D9G will also be 1:25.

Regards,
Lee

;I know it does up and down,,but when I twisted mine sideways, it broke off the round piece below the drawbar, and came out? I super glued it solid, and also the round piece that came off! I assume it is supposed to only go up and down??

I spoke to a Rep at First Gear, and he said it should twist about 30 to 40 degrees, and someone probably got heavy with the super glue when mine was assembled;;so be careful twisting the hitch,,it goes up and down easily!!
