Came out in late 67, yours is a 68 with D333c engine.
Sounds like a nice tractor. Would be great if you could show it to us.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
yes pictures so we can drool over it. and live vicariuosly through you and dream when we can add one to our own collections.
Unless your new tractor is camera shy, please feel free to share some photos please. I own 98J492, 759 and 1477 off the top of my head. All ag machines. Great tractors. JM
Here is a pick of the one I bought recently, it is z98J997. Would love to know what the z means on some of these 98J’s.

Nice! I have a "Z" tractor here as well. I have asked, but apparently we have stumped the folks in CAT land. I have even asked my well seasoned mechanic friends that bleed yellow paint, and they have no idea either. I shall keep asking around. BTW, I am in Northern California (Sutter County). I will take note of any others around here that carry the Z stamp.
Someone has to know! I hope it is not more than someone's idea of a twisted joke! JM
Maybe a tractor sold by Ziegler, they may have identified their sales by adding the Z
