I need some advice. I have a No 6 shovel, 318 engine. Was running fine and idling when it gradually slowed down and stopped. Motor appears to be stuck. Before I take the motor apart is there anything ( transmission/hydraulic pump, pony motor, pinion etc) else that can be wrong/locked up or whatever and
would cause the motor appear to be stuck when it is not. Thanking anyone in advance for their reply. Ed in southern Illinois.

First check the oil did stick ,after if you want to see if the motor is stuck take off the big motor compression and try to turne the fan and if he turne oke and check the coolant in radiator. LET ME KNOW.

Unable to turn motor over either by fan or a pipe wrench on the front pulley. Water in radiator ok and oil in motor ok. Pony motor runs good but stalls out when you attempt to turn over the big motor. Ed
