Maybe I’m late to the party, but 5H2471 Cat green cement is alive and well under the Loctite brand. I knew it went away to my great dismay several years back (which was the last time I tried to get some). A couple weeks ago just for fun I asked my buddy at the parts counter if they had it and he said its been back a couple years now. His explanation was Cat got away from making chemical compounds themselves. I haven’t cracked the can open yet to verify its exactly as it used to be, but the ingredients list makes it look like a winner…..

please tell me the strong points of this Green cement
-which gaskets? where? where not?
-how does it age/cure?
-how easy to remove?
-how does it help sealing? or what?
-Loctite makes a good product...but any product needs the right application to be effective
always dropping GOLD, all you have to do is just pick it UP !

i would say all gaskets except for head gaskets and exhaust. probably not much chop on cork gaskets. designed as a contact adhesive for bonding moulded rubber door seals etc
it would be a hardening product

I have a "CAT North American Maintenance Solutions Training Guide" from 2014 and it shows the 5012 Green Cement.
Are you all sure its a sealant? According to any information I can find on it, its only suitable for use as a contact cement for door and trunk molding and weatherstripping and headliners as per the above mentioned document and Henkel's website.
We used to use an orange Cat glue that was great for gaskets. Would get stringy the drier it got. I guess it would be similar to Loctite aviation gasket sealant.

It is mainly used on hydraulic tanks and the inner side of final drive case gaskets, it sets up kinda hard and makes gasket removal tough, but it seals good. Yes the old red gasket cement was good for all other gaskets.

There are several videos on youtube by Cat on how to use the various Loctite products.
Here is one on the Green 5012:
