We have joined today as members.
My next problem is finding the correct service/repair manual for our machine.
As far as I can gather, the engine is a 3 cyl D6100 and the Cat Model number is 6E1887
If anyone could guide me in the right direction it would be appreciated so that I can download manual.
Regards
Brian

I have searched the site and it does not look as though there is a Sevice/Repair Manual for the Cat 35.
Is it possiblat there is a member out there who has a Manual for sale or perhaps we could buy a scanned copy.
We are a Not for Profit Historical Museum in Australia and have just been presented with this Cat 35 which was used many years ago on Fraser Island (K'Gari) for logging.

To my knowledge Cat never produced a service manual specifically for Diesel 35, or the D6100 engine.
I believe that the Jensales service manual is a copy of the Caterpillar Serviceman's reference book for Caterpillar diesels, printed in 1941. It is only 62 pages and covers all diesels up to that date. Does provide some info on the 5-1/4 bore engines but not much.
One can use relatively early Serviceman's reference books for D13000 5-3/4 bore engines for more guidance as they are quite similar. For chassis, the only servicemans reference book is for the gas 35 5C series, the gas and diesel chassis are almost identical.

I've searched high and low for a Diesel Forty Service Manual. I don't think Cat ever produced one. I've found the Operator's Manual and the Parts Manual, but no Service Manual. So it doesn't surprise me that there isn't one for the Diesel Thirty Five
